“Tyler, what’s my name?”
“Mommy”
There’s a framed picture of Tyler and Natalie in his room of when they were 1 and 3 years old. He points at it and says in a cute high pitched voice “That’s so sweet!”

We had some special visitors when we got home today. 2 duckies were hanging out by the pool. I went outside to get a close-up picture of them, but they flew away. Maybe they will come back again.
Po Po and Gong Gong flew up on Friday to help us move. Boy were they a BIG help! Po po helped pack up alot of our stuff and Gong Gong helped clean and organize all our stuff. On Saturday, we rented a huge U-Haul truck and packed EVERYTHING in! Big Uncle, Uncle Khang, Uncle Wen, Uncle Chubber, Uncle Willy, and Patrick came to help too. With everyone’s help, we were able to finish the move in one truck load!
Big Uncle came back from Asia just in time to help us move. He bought Tyler this cool Ferrari shirt from China. Tyler loved it.
On Sunday, after settling in our new home, Gong Gong cooked dinner and everyone came over.
It was also Jeffrey’s birthday. Willy and Natalie baked huge sugar cookies and decorated them that afternoon.
After dinner, Po Po and Tyler shared some sour gummy bears.
Tyler and Natalie were making strawberry desserts this week. While washing the strawberries, Natalie asked, “What do the bugs say when you are washing them off the strawberries?”
This is boring. When can we eat already?!
We had a heat wave in San Jose this weekend! Got almost to 100 degrees. We decided to use our new pool even though we haven’t moved yet. The kids had fun. Water was cold at first, but they got used to it. Now all we need is some patio furniture.
After we were done swimming, we went back to Yee Po’s to shower. Then we decided to have dinner at Buca di Beppo’s so we could hang out with McPatrick.
We ordered pepperoni pizza
Chicken Marsala
Penne and spicy sausage
Fettuccine Alfredo
And we pretended it was McPatrick’s bday so we got some cool red cake.
While we were eating dinner, Tyler decided to take some pics of himself. (Yes, the camera was upside down)
Willy’s high school had a fundraiser on Friday. For a $3 wristband, you had all access to the various jumpy houses and slides. It was like an outdoor pump it up. The kids had fun and got to load up on popcorn, snow cones, and cotton candy.
Tyler and Uncle Chubber taking a break
Tyler’s been having a few bloody noses lately. There was one day, his nose started to bleed and I told him to look in the mirror and it freaked him out a little. I know, good thinking mom. Overall, he’s been a good sport about getting his nose cleaned and drinking water.
Kaiya came to visit us earlier this week. Natalie and Tyler had fun playing her and jumping on the bed. Kaiya also enjoyed eating cereal with them!
Me: I like your car pajamas
Tyler: Thank you. I like your dress mommy. (I wasn’t wearing one)
Me: Thanks. You’re cute!
Tyler: No, you’re cute! (smiles)
We spent Mother’s Day weekend in LA. On Friday, we had lunch with Gong Gong at a dumpling restaurant in Arcadia and then went to Chinatown to look for a fern, but had no luck. Afterwards we went to the Americana to walk around and get some Pinkberry. The kids had fun riding the trolley and playing by the fountain.
On Saturday, we went over to Grandma’s house for dinner.
Grandma got the girls some new clothes.
On Sunday, we went to a temple to commemorate the 1 year anniversary of Tai Po’s passing. There was some praying and then a vegetarian lunch was served. Uncle Willy, Chubber, and Gooey helped served some of the food. Would you like some rice?
At the lunch, I bumped into some cousins I haven’t seen in awhile. I use to babysit these “kids” and now they are all grown up and are successful professionals. I was feeling a little old.
(Celene, Jennie, Eric, Evan)
On our drive back, we got stuck in some really bad traffic on highway 152. This set us back almost an hour! I was nervous Natalie might need to pee, but luckily she and Tyler were distracted watching DVDs. Turns out there was a big rig accident!
