We had a crab dinner to celebrate David’s birthday this evening. The kids got him a cologne set and Nat painted a picture of an apple for him. Last night Tyler gave David a cologne sample the cashier gave us and said to him, “here, it’s a clue.”

MLK Holiday
3 day weekend and it passed like any other. I had hoped we could go to Tahoe for the weekend, but David got busy with house stuff. So today we decided to use our membership and went to the CA Academy of Science in San Francisco. They had a special 3-D movie about dinosaurs this month which Nat and Tyler really liked.
Missing Uncle Chubber
Tyler: Is Uncle Chubber still here?
Me: No, he’s at school
Tyler: aw (sad face)
Me: He might come back this weekend. You can call him tonight and ask him.
Tyler: Ok! I’ve never seen his department before
Me: You mean apartment?
Tyler: Yeah, apartment. He showed me his desk one time on facetime.

What Kids Really Want Their Parents To Do With Them
I recently read this from Facebook:
The Top Ten Things Kids Really Want Their Parents To Do With Them (from classroom polls)
1. Come into my bedroom at night, tuck me in and sing me a song. Also tell me stories about when you were little.
3. Spend quality time just with me, not with my brothers and sisters around.
4. Give me nutritious food so I can grow up healthy.
5. At dinner talk about what we could do together on the weekend.
6. At night talk to me about about anything; love, school, family etc.
7. Let me play outside a lot.
8. Cuddle under a blanket and watch our favorite TV show together.
9. Discipline me. It makes me feel like you care.
10. Leave special messages in my desk or lunch bag.
Last night, while watching TV, I told Natalie and Tyler a story about when I was little and how I use to play boat with Uncle Way with our stuffed animals on my bed. Their faces lit up with excitement. After I was done, Tyler said, “Tell us more stories!”
This Evening
While cooking dinner, I looked up and saw Nat reading on the couch. She seemed engrossed in her book. No issues asking her to do her homework when we got home today. This girl, I’m not too worried will get into college.
So I decided to see what Tyler was up to. I found him in his room playing with his LEGO. This guy would never read for pleasure and he hates doing homework! This one I worry about. 🙂
New Year’s Eve
Happy Holidays
I’ve been delayed in blogging. It’s been hard getting back into a productive mode after spending ~10hrs in bed each day. It’s nice to be on vacation.
We spent a week during the holidays down in LA. The kids got almost everything they wanted on their wish lists. The car was packed going down and even more packed coming home. It was nice spending time with family and eating lots of good food!
On our way to LA, we stopped in Kettleman City for a break. The kids bought a pack of Hubba Bubba and practiced blowing bubbles in the car. Tyler blew his first bubble!
