Tyler lost tooth #6 yesterday. Poor boy is running out of teeth. He’s been eating ok but he talks funny. Nat lost tooth #8 today. These kids are getting smart leaving notes for the tooth fairy. Tyler’s note asked for $1,000! Today he gave his sister pointers on what to write to the tooth fairy. “Don’t ask for anything coz she won’t give it to you.” During dinner he told us he was sure she was real and “she’s from the future.” I’m not sure what he was thinking there.
Month: April 2013
Bees!
Today we went over to David’s coworkers house to learn about bees and harvesting honey. Her husband Stefan is a beekeeper and has thousands of bees in their backyard. He told us about how they are social creatures and about queens and drones and worker bees. We participated in harvesting some honey and even got to take some home. You can check out his website at www.ajarofhoney.com.
Nat’s School Project -JAMsj
One of the 3rd grade class projects this year is to do a report on a Santa Clara County site. Natalie was assigned the Japanese American Museum of San Jose. I think I blogged about this a few blogs ago. She had to do a written report, create a travel poster, and prepare a short speech. It was optional to wear something representative of your site and she was lucky to be able to borrow a Hello Kitty yukata from our friend Dori.
Tonight we had a dress rehearsal. Her project and presentation is due tomorrow.
Spring Break 2013
We spent all of spring break last week in LA. The kids got to go to Disneyland AND Universal Studios and spend alot of time with family, especially their cousins Kaiya, Sienna, and Gavin.
We went to Disneyland on Tuesday. It wasn’t crowded and our longest wait in line was 30 minutes (for Finding Nemo). The weather was perfect that day! Natalie and Tyler rode Space Mountain for the first time and they liked it.
Surprise Visit
Cousins Grace and Meliya came up from LA Thursday night to stay with us for the weekend. They had fun visiting with the new twin cousins Hayden and Mason.
Yesterday we spent the day in Felton at Roaring Camp Railroads where the kids got to ride a real steam train. It happened to be their 50th anniversary so extra fun stuff was happening on the site.
This was our train conductor giving us a history behind the redwoods.
Today we all drive to LA together to start our spring break and end Grace and Meliya’s.
It’s Raining Teeth
Tyler lost another tooth today. We were eating dinner at a restaurant and he told me his tooth was wiggly. 10 minutes later, he pulled it out.
He says his smile looks like a puzzle.
Tonight when David was checking Tyler’s tooth under his pillow, he found a post-it note along with it. It read “Do you like candy ______”
*update 4/6*
This morning, “Dad! I wrote the tooth fairy a note and she wrote me back!”
I asked Tyler why he wrote her a note:
“Coz I wanted to see if she was real.”
