Gardening

David and the kids did some gardening today and planted 5 different types of tomato plants. Hopefully we get a lot of tomatoes this year! Tyler said he hopes we get a lot of tomatoes so we can make more pico-de-gallo salsa.

Snow Weekend

It’s mid-April and there’s still plenty of snow!! We did a quick weekend trip to Tahoe since we had two unused lift tickets left over from our last ski trip. Uncle Chubber, Birdie, and Ronald came too. The weather was perfect. It was sunny and warm (almost too warm for skiing) but the snow was still really good. We saw some people skiing in shorts and short sleeves too. Crazy. It was still high 30’s/low 40’s though.

Lunch break. Everyone was hungry!

They made a snow bunny for Easter!

Tyler went on his first black diamond run. He said he was scared at first, but powered through it.

Spring Break 2017

We spent Spring break in LA this year. I think of it as our low budget vacation destination. The kids got to spend time with family on both sides. They went to the Arboretum with Auntie Yin and Theo, the movies with Uncle Wen, and the Grove for brunch with cousins Melanie, Kelsie, Grace, Meliya, and Hunter.

We checked out a cool bookstore in Downtown LA called The Last Bookstore.

We took the kids to Forest Lawn to visit the graves of their great-grandparents, great-uncle, and grand-uncle.

Asian Desserts

David and I came across this new asian dessert and boba place one Friday night after dinner called Meet Fresh. It was so crowded we decided to try it another time. Last Friday after dinner, we tried again, but the line was out the door and we had to get to Chinese school soon to pick up the kids. We decided to come back after Chinese school with the kids. The line was still out the door.

The kids shared this cotton candy strawberry soda. They loved it! A table with several smaller kids sat next to us and saw ours and ended up buying 2!

They fought to finish every last sip of the drink!

Grass jelly, taro balls, and shaved ice topped with cream.
