Fall Sports Banquet 2017

The fall sports banquet was tonight celebrating fall sports teams (boys volleyball, girls soccer, girls basketball, and cross country.) There was a light dinner: hot dogs and salad, followed by an awards ceremony. For each team, there was an award for Mighty Mustang (student voted – best sportsmanship/spirit), Most Improved, and MVP. This was pre-announced after his volleyball season already, but Tyler got MVP for his team!

Kids Holiday Party

My company hosted a holiday party for kids this afternoon. There were a variety of activities and lots of snacks and treats. Most of the kids there were “little kids.” Nat even said, “I’m the biggest kid here.” She still had fun though. Tyler had a lot of fun playing ping pong and basketball hoops with other boys he met there.

The treat table. Natalie enjoyed this!

She ate…

And drank..

And made me a cookie. “M” for Mom!

Winter Fest

We joined some friends at Winter Fest in Great America last weekend. Our season passes allowed us access for free. The park was decorated really nicely with lots of lights and holiday decor. There was an ice skating rink which the kids enjoyed too. It was cold!

Gingerbread Houses

Tyler’s friend invited us over for a gingerbread house decorating party yesterday. There were lots of houses and a good variety of candies too. The boys had a good start, but slowly lost interest and decided to play video games instead. Nat spent a lot of time on hers with detailed decorations.

We got a tree

We got a tree last night. Yes, on a Wednesday night. We’re winding down our evening and I get a text from Uncle Chubs and next thing you know, we’re meeting him and Wileen at Home Depot. It quickly becomes a competition of who is picking the best tree. They win. I told the kids we would get a small tree. I was eyeing a small Noble Fir, but somehow we ended up with a medium-large Douglas Fir. (Natalie and her value logic.)

We’ll be decorating our house this weekend.
