Band

Tyler started learning how to play the trumpet via the school’s music program this year. This morning, he had his first band performance, which was a mix of 4th and 5th graders. The entire school came out to watch. Luckily it didn’t rain!

My Shopping Buddy

Nat and I spent the afternoon shopping at Santana Row today, by her request. She wanted to go to H&M to get a light jacket. We ended up shopping at several shops as you can see from the picture. She’s starting to get to a point where she’s more of a shopping companion vs. a little girl I need to tote around when I shop. When I try stuff on, she will give me an honest opinion, which is helpful. But sometimes, she’s too practical for me, “Don’t you have something like that already?” She on the other hand, does not care for my opinion for stuff she wants to buy!

4th Grade Improv

“You are invited to attend an informal theatre presentation for your child’s Starting Arts Theatre class during the school day. We have been working hard on Improvisation acting and comedy sketches and would love for you to come out and enjoy the performances! Guaranteed to make you laugh, and I know it will mean a lot to the kids who have been working so hard so see you there!”

Thank You Cards

I got Tyler to write Thank You cards to everyone who gave him a birthday present. This is the first one he wrote and I thought it was pretty hilarious.

Big 10

The boy turns 10 today! I CAN’T BELIEVE HE’S ALREADY 10!!! While I’ve discussed not having birthday parties for the kids in the past, I thought it was the right thing to do this year since it’s a milestone birthday, although Nat is already planning her birthday party and it’s NOT a milestone birthday. Sigh.

We kept it as simple as possible…

We celebrated this evening with family at Round Table Pizza. (Our bay area family is growing!) Thanks to everyone who came!

Last Sunday, Tyler invited a few of his buddies over and we took them to lunch and some play time at Dave & Busters. Tyler’s choice for lunch was his “favorite” restaurant, Pho Kim Long
