Father’s Day 2022

David’s cousin Khang asked him to help move from the bay area to Vegas last weekend. They drove from San Jose to Vegas on Saturday morning, stopping in LA to pick up his dog and then heading to Vegas. It was a long drive. When Khang made the call last Thursday, I checked flight prices to see if the kids and I could meet David in Vegas for the weekend since it was Father’s day weekend. I found decent flights out of SFO so I booked us for a spontaneous trip and we headed out early Saturday morning. David made it to the hotel at 1:30am on Sunday morning. He was tired!
Happy Father’s Day!

Happy 18th Birthday

Nat turned 18 last week and I’m sad. She’s turned into a big girl so fast.

We hosted a pool party to celebrate her birthday and she invited a bunch of friends from school. The party turned out really well. Nat and her friends all had a great time. So much fun, I was worried they wouldn’t leave!

David spent a lot of time cleaning up and setting up the backyard

Burnt almond cake and chocolate cream cake

S’mores (and nice heat after getting out of the pool)

After spending two days eating leftovers (pizza and chow mein) from her party, she requested sushi for her birthday dinner

PHS Class of 2022

June 2, 2022

Natalie graduates high school…

Several Uncle’s and Auntie’s (some from LA!) came to support her on this special milestone. Because of her role as ASB President this year, she had several speaking parts throughout the ceremony. She led the Pledge of Allegiance, gave a commencement speech, got to call out names for diplomas, and closed the graduation ceremony with the Senior Class President who is also a close friend whom she’s known since elementary school.

David and I are incredibly proud of her and all she has accomplished so far. Her commencement speech was about “Firsts” and not being afraid of being the first to affect change. We’re definitely going to see more amazing things from this girl.

Elementary School Reunion

Nat’s elementary school hosted a “Class of 2022” reunion at the school. Students returned from 4 different high schools in the area. It was nice to see some of the kids Nat use to go to school with and how much they have changed. She got to visit some teachers who are still working there too.

5th grade teacher. She retired after Nat finished 5th grade but returned for the reunion.

Kindergarten teacher. She’s still teaching there.
