We just got back from a trip to Target. The kids ran out of cereal. On the car ride home, Natalie was telling us about a classmate that got in trouble and had to go to the office.
Tyler: “Is it a girl?”
Nat: “Yes”
Tyler: “Is she pretty?”

For Chinese New Year, we headed down to LA on Friday afterschool and spent the weekend celebrating with both sides of the the family. The kids got alot of hong baos and got to play games with their cousins.
We arrived late Friday night. Nat and PoPo decided to have a late night snack. It was 11pm!
We had lunch with uncles and aunties at Bollini’s
PoPo and Nat with their Qi Paos
With cousin Malaya
Prayer food
This morning while lounging around in bed enjoying our day off, Tyler says to me “Today is Martin Luther King’s birthday”
Me: “Why is he important?”
Tyler: “Because of him everyone is friendly. Black people don’t have to be with black people and white people don’t have to be with white people. And there was something else, but I forgot.”
Tyler: I don’t know what I want for Christmas next year.
Me: Nothing. I’m going to put on your list “I don’t want anything.”
Tyler: You’re mean!
Today was Pajama/Spirit day at school. The kids got to wear their PJs and bring a stuffed animal. Natalie was especially excited about this. She wore all things Hello Kitty and was excited to show her friends. Oh and Tyler looks sad in this picture because he wanted to wear his shoe lace shoes but I didn’t let him.
Today was the first day back to school after 2 weeks of Winter break. You can imagine after 2 weeks of going to bed and waking up late how rough it was. I made the kids promise not to give their dad a hard time this morning. Tyler broke his promise.
December came and went with what felt like a blink of an eye! Most of my free time was spent prepping for parties and Christimas shopping. Here’s a glimpse of our December:
We drove out to Merced to visit little J and family
Hanging out with Kaiya at her school
Nat and Theo on Christimas eve
Auntie Marissa made this cool hat for Natalie! I wish it fit me.
We got a visit from Santa
Christmas Day at the Khas
I had to work on some days while in LA. David took the kids for a hike at Griffith Park observatory
Hanging out with Uncle Chubber in SF
On New Year’s Eve, both David and Tyler were sick so Nat and I had dinner at Yee Po’s house
We got a new lightweight vacuum the other day at Costco and I quickly put her, I mean it to good use! 🙂
