How to make spam musubi

For Tyler’s 4th grade “How to” project, he did his on “How to make spam musubi.” We spent one morning making spam musubi together so he could see what steps were needed and then wrote his essay. Needless to say his project was a hit in class. Kids love to eat this. He brought in samples on the day of his speech and some of his friends asked for extras!

That must’ve been a big one!

While coming out of the bathroom, hands freshly washed:
“Mom! I weighed myself before I pooped and I was 63 pounds. I just weighed myself again and now I’m 62.2 pounds!”

He proceeds to talk to himself about how that must’ve been a big poop.
(This is David’s child).

Lands End and The City

Yesterday we met the whole gang at Lands End in San Francisco for a short but very scenic hike. We’ve been wanting to go check out Lands End for some time now and since the weather was going to be so nice we decided to go. It just turned out that everyone else happened to be going too so we met up! The weather was perfect and views were breathtaking! This is why everyone wants to live in California! And this is why it costs so much to live here!

Tyler was in no mood for family selfies (but he hardly ever is)

After lunch, everyone headed home but we stayed in the city to enjoy the day. We walked over to Ghiradelli Square for some ice cream, then walked to Chinatown for dragon beard candy, then walked to Union Square for some shopping, and finally the kids wanted to ride the cable car so we rode it back to Fisherman’s Wharf close to where we parked. We did a lot of walking and the kids were good troopers.

We ended our day having dinner at one of our favorite places in the city, PPQ Dungenous crab. Natalie and I both wanted to eat there.

Like a Pro

When we were younger, my brother and I would re-enact these 7-Up commercials that were running at the time during the summer. We’d open a can of 7-Up and refreshing rain would come pouring down on us in the heat of the summer (from the garden hose of course).

I found two old commercials like this:

Tyler made his own Sprite commercial. Check out how smooth he is popping the soda cap.
