Natalie got the flu too

On Wednesday afternoon, I got a call from Natalie’s school telling me she wasn’t feeling well and had a low grade fever. Ai yai yai. Sure enough, she had the same symptoms as Tyler. Headache, fever, and vomiting. We got an appointment the next day and she was able to get Tamiflu as well. Natalie’s vomiting much more severe than Tyler’s. She went back to the doctor’s office a second time to be treated for dehydration.

Down with the flu

Tyler got a fever on Saturday night, so we took him to see the doctor on Sunday. The doctor said he had the flu and is presuming it’s H1N1 because “it’s the only one going around right now.” She prescribed him Tamiflu which seemed to help alot. Sunday, he was pretty miserable with fever and vomiting. But Monday, he was much better after having a couple doses of Tamiflu. Today he was back to normal pretty much with the exception of his cough, which he’s had a few weeks now.

Meanwhile, since Tyler was sick, Natalie went to a school pumpkin patch. She brought home two baby pumpkins, one for her and one for Tyler.

Disney Princess on Ice

Yesterday, we went watch the Disney Princesses on Ice show at HP Pavilion with Sinclaire and family. The show was great! Natalie was nervous most of the time, but Tyler really enjoyed it.

Catwalk

On Saturday, October 10th Natalie’s school had a fundraiser called “The catwalk.” It’s an annual fundraiser the school does to raise money for the school to use. Kids walk laps around the track and get rewards after a certain amount of laps. The school makes money through lap pledges and concessions.

Sharing practice

Thursday’s are Natalie’s “Sharing” day at school. It’s just like show & tell. She has to bring something to class and stand up in front of everyone and say 3 things about why the item is special to her. Tonight she picked baby bun. She practiced a few times and little brother decided he wanted to do it too.

Staying warm in Mom’s bed

This morning, after David woke Natalie up to pee, she came to my bed and jumped under the covers to warm back up cause it was so cold this morning! Tyler, who had managed to sneak into my bed in the middle of night was lying in the middle and says to her “There’s extra room for you Je.” And he curls up under the blanket and smiles. What a sweet little brother!
