Thanksgiving

The kids had the whole week off from school so we spent the week in LA. David and I worked from home Monday – Wednesday and the kids had fun going places with 公公 and 婆婆。We had Thanksgiving dinner with turkey and ham and all the fixings at Uncle Tommy and Auntie Kari’s house and then a second Asian style dinner at 姨婆 house. The week went by fast, but the kids had a lot of fun spending time with family.

After 3 DVDs on the car ride back, I had the kids take a break and shortly after found Tyler like this.

Chicken Feet

So we go to Dim Sum today in Chinatown and Tyler accepts almost anything we offer him, including chicken feet! I was so surprised he was willing to eat this, but he chewed on it until most of it was just bones.

Hello! My name is Tyler

Tyler’s Chinese school homework, week 11 – “Hello, my name is..”
His accent is all wrong but it’s pretty funny to hear him speak Chinese. He’s getting it… slowly…

My Little Picasso

Nat recently painted these paintings. She had two days off from school last week for Veterans Day and was bored so she looked up some design ideas on Pinterest and painted these.

Happy Halloween 2014

We went over and hung out with Melanie this evening for Halloween. Nat went trick or treating with Uncle Tommy, Auntie Kari, and Melanie, but only for a short time because Mel was getting tired. Later, Uncle Tommy took Nat out again after some convincing, but it started to drizzle so they weren’t out long. Nat didn’t seem too interested in trick or treating. Later in the car ride home she told me that it isn’t fun trick or treating alone. She had fun passing out candy though!

Hello Kitty Con

Nat and I flew down to LA last night to attend Hello Kitty Con today. It was epic!! Lucky girl got to miss 2 days of school, instead go to the greatest place on earth!

We were there from open to close and she loved every moment of it. We were interviewed by several reporters and a ton of people took pics of us. Lots of people commented on how cute she looked. She even got to get a mini-makeover at the Sephora booth.

Big Girl Does Laundry

She can shop like a big girl, so she can do laundry like a big girl too! I needed some help with laundry today, but I was busy so I asked Nat to do it.

Just One of the Girls

Nat loves hanging around her two aunties, Wileen and Birdie. They make her feel like a big girl and include her in stuff they do. Today the four of us went to the mall together and she followed them around like she was one of the big girls. It won’t be long until she starts borrowing or sharing stuff with them!

Nat’s First Orchestra Performance

Nat’s in honor orchestra this year continuing her lessons on the cello. On Friday evening they performed at the school district’s pumpkin patch opening night. I was surprised by the number of students and how well they did considering school just started a few weeks ago.
