Sweet 16

Nat turned 16 yesterday! We were unsure of whether or not to do a celebration, but social restrictions loosening and two BIG things to celebrate, we decided to have a celebration with close friends and family.

On Friday, she invited a few close friends over. They had poke and Sprinkles cupcakes.

Her friends made this cool “Up” house and filled it with snacks.

On Saturday, we had a backyard bbq with family to celebrate Nat’s birthday and Tyler middle school graduation.

Auntie Wileen made her this really cool rainbow layered crepe cake

There was a ping pong challenge!

Thanks to everyone who came and made it a memorable day for Natalie and Tyler!

Tyler’s Middle School Grad

6/12/20

Tyler wrapped up middle school this week and will be heading to the same high school as Nat this fall. Since we’re in SIP, there was no graduation ceremony at the school. Some parents organized a car parade to celebrate the kids’ graduation. There were a little over 40 cars. It was a nice way to celebrate the kids finishing middle school.

A friend’s dad created a custom SnapChat filter for us to create a memorable photo

Nat and Tyler decorated the car for the parade

Nat and I stood at street corner along the parade route to cheer on the passing cars. Nat made this sign.

Bon Tempe Lake

On Friday, we drove up and met with the Chiu cousins to go to Bon Tempe Lake to ride bikes, hike, and fish. It was our first family outing since SIP started. It was so nice to be out. There weren’t many people there so it was nice to not have to wear masks. The area was beautiful!

Swim challenge

I challenged Tyler to do 50 laps in the pool and he did it! I was surprised and ready to lower the number, but decided to wait for him to ask but he never did. He was so proud of himself. It took him 23 minutes to do 50 laps.

Meanwhile… Natalie…
