Lots of Coin

It was time to empty out all my coin holders as they have been over flowing. Tyler helped me empty my kitty bank and sort out some of the coins. I wanted to keep any special coins (50 cent pieces, dollar coins, and any foreign currency.) Tyler had fun spotting out the special coins. We took 2 bags of coins to the Coinstar machine at Lucky’s and opted for the gift card option since it is fee free. We ended up with a whopping $163!! We were both very surprised. My guesstimate was around $50-60.

I ended up with several special coins, many of which were foreign currency. I even had one from the Bahamas and I’ve never even been there!

Tyler had fun pouring the coins through the machine and watching our total grow

Walk and Talk

This evening the kids and I went for a walk after dinner. While walking, Tyler suggested talking about Harry Potter and Nat agreed since she’s so into it right now. The walk went by really quick for them since they had so much to say to each other. It’s so great that they are able to discuss the same books right now.

Book Worm

Natalie started reading the Harry Potter series about a month ago and has been hooked. She’s currently on book #6. Tyler started much earlier than her and he’s only on book #3. Any free time she has, she’s basically reading. The nice thing about both of them reading this series at the same time is they are able to discuss the story together. We were lucky to borrow most of the series from Uncle Chubber and he surprised her with a shipment of book #6 & #7 from Amazon since he only had up to book #5.

Volleyball Tournament

The kids started volleyball a few weeks ago and yesterday was their first tournament. This is Nat’s 3rd or 4th season and Tyler’s first. Tyler is the only boy in his team, but he doesn’t seem to mind. He is the “best” player on the team and he’s gotten a lot of praise from his coach, which he likes. He needs more of a challenge, I think. Natalie has improved her volleyball skills a lot since she first started.

Mother’s Day

This kids started my morning by waking me in an attempt to re-enact a scene from Frozen. I did not find it amusing but they had a nice little giggle fest. True to tradition, the kids (well mainly David) made me a Mother’s Day breakfast feast, followed by promises of a massage from Tyler and we could do anything I wanted today. So we went hiking!

After hiking we stopped at Costco. The kids were so tired (we hiked 4 miles!), they needed to sit in the cart while we shopped.

In the evening, I took Tyler up on his massage offer.

Go Giants!

David won the entire luxury box for yesterday’s Giants game from work. They were having all “All Hands” meeting and the CEO was playing a variety of songs and the idea was to guess the theme. David was the first to guess it right. The package came with 16 tickets and parking, plus food and drinks! We invited all the cousins and some of our friends and everyone had a great time. David even caught a foul ball during practice (using Nats hat!) before the game started. Tyler was so excited!

The luxury box was awesome! When we arrived it was filled with food and drinks and the kids were so amazed! The box is just behind home base so our view was perfect.

Us girls had our Giants gear ready!
