Tooth #9

Nat lost her ninth tooth on Friday. When I picked her up from daycare, she said her tooth was super wiggly and while driving home she said her mouth was bloody. I told her when we got home to wash her hands and try plucking it. She plucked and the tooth came out!

She quickly got her tooth fairy pillow out. The tooth fairy left her $6.

The Nutcracker

We took the kids to watch the Nutcracker ballet in San Francisco last night. It was their first time watching a ballet/musical type of show. Both said they liked it and want to go again next near. Their favorite part was the fight with the mouse king.

Santa

On Saturday morning I asked the kids if they wanted to go take a picture with Santa. A place nearby was offering free pictures with Santa. Natalie wanted to, but Tyler didn’t really. I made him go anyways. They got excited when we got there.

After the picture, Santa asked them what they wanted for Christmas. Here Natalie is telling him she wants arts and crafts stuff. Tyler told him he wanted this “puzzle toy”.

Jumbo Mom

In the car today:

Nat: Mom, how many pounds are you?
Me: Why do you ask?
Nat: I just want to know.
Tyler: Are you 1000lbs or something?
Me: Do I look like I’m 1000 lbs?!?!
(Nat is laughing hysterically)
Tyler: No, you don’t look jumbo. I once saw a 1000lb lady on TV. She was jumbo.

Meet Nats dogs

Nat has Boo and mini Boo. I got her the mini Boo from Vegas and Uncle J got her the regular Boo as an early Christmas present. She loves these dogs and takes them everywhere she goes. She would even take them to school if I let her.

We got a tree

This evening after dinner we went to Home Depot to look for a Christmas tree. We told the kids we could only get a small tree because we didn’t have space.

Nats Painting

Natalie painted this picture as a present for Uncle J and Auntie Tul. When she finished it, she showed it to me and I said, “It’s really cute, but you’re missing a baby!” She forgot they were having twins. So she added another baby in!

Thanksgiving 2012

We had 4 straight days of non stop eating! On Wednesday we had a turkey and ham dinner at Grandmas house then another turkey dinner on Thursday at Uncle Way’s house. On Friday we had home cooking at PoPo and Gong Gong’s and on Saturday we had a buffet dinner for Gong Gong’s birthday!

The kids had fun playing in the closet

Flu shots

This afternoon I took Nat & Tyler to get flu shots. When I broke the news to them, they started to complain and said that I was mean and they didn’t want to go. Then I overheard Tyler say to his sister, “when we are getting ready to go, I feel nervous.” In the car ride there, they were nervous and kept saying how mean I was and how they “liked Dad more.” When we were were walking into the doctor’s office Tyler said to his sister, “If you are nervous, just hold me.” We got called into the nurse’s office, and she offered us an option to get the flu mist (a nasal spray) and she said it was more effective than the shot. The kids were happy to hear this, but also nervous because they didn’t truly understand what it meant. Tyler went first. When the nurse got the spray out (it looked like it could be a shot) and he said to her, “You will be gentle?” I laughed. After he was done, he said to his sister, “It doesn’t hurt. It just feel like a bloody nose.”

While we walked out of the clinic, both of them were so relieved and happy they didn’t have to get shots. They opened up their Halloween candy (which they brought to treat themselves after the shot) and enjoyed it. In the car Tyler said, “I like that nurse. She’s really really nice!”

Election Day

The kids have been learning a lot about the election. Today Tyler’s teacher walked them by the polling station at school so they got to see how people vote. In class they voted for president. Tyler: “I voted for Mitt Romney, but Barack Obama won.” He used their first and last names when speaking about them. I asked Tyler why he voted for Mitt Romney and he said “I don’t know, just because.”
