Dim Sum in LA

On Friday, Po Po took the day off since we were visiting and we decided to have dim sum in Chinatown. We got lots of good food and Jenna came along too since she’s a victim of the recession.

Ribs night

Uncle J, Uncle Chubber, and Wileen came over for dinner last night and we had a ribs feast! The ribs were really tender and good, the meat just slid off the bone. While eating, we were entertained by listening to Wileen’s dramatic life and Natalie and Uncle Chubber were making stuff out of napkin shreds.

Tyler!

This morning, Tyler was playing with his trains and toys. He had them scattered all over the living room floor. He went upstairs to look for his pump and as he was going upstairs, he said to David, “Dad, don’t clean up ok?” (He hates when we clean up his toys while he’s playing). And he took a few more steps and said “Remember, don’t touch anything.”

Gymnastics

Natalie takes a gymnastics class at The Little Gym with Monique on Monday evenings. Tonight, the theme was Popsicle Pirates. Their teacher Miss Katie gave them these pirate bandanas to wear on their heads.

The weekend and some old ladies

On Saturday, we went to San Francisco to see our CPA. His office is near Chinatown, so afterwards we went over for some lunch and dan tats from Golden Gate Bakery. The kids played at the park at Portsmouth Square. There were a lot of old ladies and men sitting in groups around the park playing cards and socializing. I saw these 4 old ladies sitting on a bench enjoying the day. They reminded me of my grandma. I was happy and sad seeing them.

On Sunday, we went over to check out the new Lowe’s that opened in our neighborhood and picked up a Lemon tree for Uncle J’s belated birthday present.

Mac n cheese

I made mac ‘n cheese tonight from scratch for the first time. The kids love to eat mac ‘n cheese. In the end, I added some chopped broccoli to give some nutrional value. It came out really rich. Thanks to Uncle Chubber for the recipe.

Shhhh Tyler!

Last night, Natalie fell asleep in my bed, so when David came in to move her to her room, Tyler was there and started jumping and making noise. I said to him “Shhhh, Je Je’s sleeping”. He froze and stayed quiet and stared at me for a few seconds and then said, “I want to talk”.

Natalie table dancing

Big Uncle posted this video on his facebook page. As her mother, I’m not sure how I really feel about it. It seemed funny enough to share though. By the way, this was taped on a night he was babysitting the kids.
