Camden and Christopher’s end of summer party

Last Sunday, Camden and Christopher hosted an end of summer party at a park in Mountain View. The kids got to play on the swings, get their faces painted, play tug of war and even have a potatoe sac race! While Natalie and Tyler were swinging with Ba pushing them, I walked over and Tyler let go with one hand to wave at me and then he fell off the swing. Good thing he was ok.

Who gave Tyler a time out?

After dinner, Ba gave Tyler and Natalie each a bowl of champagne grapes to eat. Tyler was playing around with his bowl and spilled some of them on the kitchen floor. While Ba was cleaning the floor up, he noticed Tyler sitting down in the “time out” area so he asked me if I gave him a time out. I said no, maybe it was Natalie? So Ba asked asked Tyler, “Who gave you a time out?” and Tyler said, “I give it to myself.”

San Francisco Giants

First baseball game for the kids! I got 4 free tickets from work and it was a perfect day to go to a baseball game. The weather was nice and warm and we had seats in the shade which was nice. Natalie and Tyler didn’t really pay attention to the game, instead they enjoyed treats and people watched.

Lao Bet’s birthday dinner

We had dinner at a chinese restuarant in Fullerton to celebrate Lao Bet’s 77th birthday. We had so much delicious food! Peking duck, scallops, clams, squid, walnut prawns, lobster, and much more!

Nat was ready to eat!

After dinner, we went back to Lao Bet’s house in West Covina for cake. While we were taking pictures, Tyler leaned into the cake on the table and took a bite!

Treadmill

We got Gong Gong a treadmill over the weekend. The kids were giving him a live demo:

Hermosa Beach

After we were done at the American Girl store, we decided to go to the beach since we were already on the west side. Uncle Tommy, Auntie Diana, Uncle Barry, Meliya, Auntie Sophia, Uncle Robert, Lindsey, and Kyle met us out there too. It was a warm sunny day. The kids had alot of fun playing in the water and catching sand crabs.

A trip to the American Girl store

We decided to take a trip to LA at the last minute for fun and to attend Lao Bet’s birthday dinner, so we took Friday off. Since we were in LA, I decided we could take Natalie to the American Girl store to pick out a new outfit. We agreed before we went that she could only buy 1 outfit, but somehow she suckered me into 2 outfits, a haircare kit, AND a trip to the salon!

Post office picnic

Yee gong’s post office had a picnic at Blackberry Farm and he got tickets for us to go too! There was bbq, treats, and a pinata. The kids had fun roaming around the park.

Chili Garden and Yogurtland

On Saturday night, since everyone was over and I wasn’t really prepared for cooking a large meal, we decided to go have dinner at Chili Garden in Milpitas. We even ran into Mandy and Chris there! They were getting take out.

Natalie and Tyler loaded up on plain rice before the dishes came out. For some reason, they really like restaurant rice.

ICEE

On Saturday, while we were eating lunch, I made a deal with the kids that if they did a good job eating lunch, I would take them to 7-11 to get ICEE’s after their naps. Somehow, Tyler took a very short nap and Natalie got away with not taking one. Both were very excited about their ICEE’s. Tyler got the “red” ICEE and Natalie picked “blue.”
