Auntie Diana, Uncle Barry, Grace, Meliya, Uncle Steven, Auntie Kitty, and Hunter came up from LA for a weekend visit. Everyone packed into our house somehow without even using the living room! The kids had fun playing together. Natalie and Tyler love it when we have guests. On Saturday, everyone went to the California Academy of Science. The kids had fun trying to get butterflies to land on their fingers. In the evening we had everyone over for dinner and celebrated Grace and Meliya’s birthday. The house was crazy with kids everywhere and lots of food! It was a fun weekend, who’s next to visit?

This evening we made our own mini pizzas for dinner. I thought it would be fun for the kids and it would get them to eat more since they made it. They had a lot of fun and made only a little mess! The pizzas turned out really yummy too. Here’s the recipe we used.

The kids are at their first sleepover at Big Uncle’s place. Tyler wanted to go but Nat didn’t, but I made her go anyways. David and I enjoyed a nice dinner at a Michelin rated restaurant this evening with Willy and Chubber and now we’re getting ready to watch a movie. I always dream about having kid free nights but after they are gone, I really miss them!

This morning while getting ready for breakfast Nat exclaims, “It’s Uncle Chubber’s birthday today!”
Me: You should send him a text. Lots of happy faces!
Tyler: Can we go to his house today??
Me: No, he’s in LA, at school
Tyler: Sad face

I took Tyler in to get allergy tested again today. We wanted to check if his peanut allergy has gone away and test for airborne allergies because he’s had red eyes lately. They did a skin test on his back. He complained that it itched and hurt but overall did a good job during the tests. His peanut allergy is still there and went up since we last tested. The doctor thought that was wierd so we’re going back for a blood test. He also tested positive for allergies to trees, weed, and grass! Oh great.

After we got home from school today, the kids had a snack and I went to my room to do some more work. It was surprisingly quiet so I went into the kitchen to see what they were doing. I found them focused on writing and drawing. They had decided to make books. I overheard Tyler tell his sister his book was about “Me and Mom.”

While they were working I heard Natalie offer words of encouragement when Tyler made a mistake and also give him pointers on adding pictures.

It was a rare productive and peaceful evening!

This afternoon I got a call from school from the office admin telling me that Tyler had an accident at school. He fell and scraped his knee and chin and busted his lip from running and falling. They asked me to come pick him up.

After we got home, he watched TV and was totally fine.

Today was the first day of school. Summer went by too fast! At least for me it did. Natalie and Tyler were excited to start school today. They both really like their teachers, especially Natalie. She’s really excited about her teacher and says she’s super nice!

Last night I made a deal with the kids. If they did a good job waking up this morning without complaints I would take them to Baskin Robbins. Needless to say, this morning was very smooth!

We went down to LA to celebrate Ah Mahs 100th Birthday. The family threw her a big birthday party at Golden Coast Buffet and almost 200 guests attended! Everyone dressed up in traditional Burmese outfits. PoPo even made outfits for the girls. Happy 100th Birthday Ah Mah!

We took advantage of our annual pass and went to Universal Studios for half a day while in LA for a quick weekend trip. It was so hot!!

We got the kids to take pictures with these statue guys. The one next to Tyler was a real guy and Tyler didn’t know. When they sat down, the guy started to move, but Tyler was too focused on smiling for the camera and didn’t notice. His sister tried nudging him so he would see, but he didn’t. See video below.
