Tyler lost another tooth yesterday. I think this is tooth #4. The tooth fairy left him $3 and this morning he put it in his piggy bank.

One of the activities was a scavenger hunt. It included meeting people within the family, writing info about Colette, and getting tattoos.
Tyler’s Quick Save
Last night, Tyler slept over at Big Uncle’s place. Nat stayed home because she was sick. This afternoon I took a walk with Tyler and asked him how his sleep over was.
Me: Did you miss me?
Tyler: No, I was too busy thinking about being at Big Uncle’s house.
-he paused and realized that would hurt my feelings and then quickly added:-
Tyler: But I had dreams about you.
Surveys and Graphs
Tyler’s homework this week included surveying friends and family and creating a graph. He had to select 5 things and ask people which they liked, then draw a graph/chart to show the results. His topic was drinks. He made several phone calls to various family members and friends. I think some uncles fell under Root Beer because they heard BEER.
Tyler Turns 7
Tyler turns 7 today. This morning at 6:40am, he came marching into our room and announced, “I’m the birthday boy!” He climbed into our bed and said, “What are you getting me for my birthday? Actually, you don’t need to get me anything. My friends are getting me presents today. I will have alot.” David and I ignored him as we were still half asleep, but he didn’t mind. He was in such a good mood, he just kept talking to himself.
Tyler invited 5 friends for a few hours of fun at Chuck E Cheese’s. All but one are in the same class as him.

Po Po and Gong Gong Visit
Po Po and Gong Gong came to stay with us for a week while the kids were off for ski week. They had fun taking walks and playing basketball outside and we all enjoyed their cooking!
We started the week by taking them to the CA Academy of Science.

Then we went to Chinatown and the kids got to see some Lion dancers

Natalie and Tyler made pretend pastries with clay

Year of the Snake
We drove down to LA on Friday after school to celebrate Chinese New Year. On our way down, we found out that the Grapevine was closed due to snow so we had to take a detour which extended our drive an additional 2 hours!
We were having a conversation about Chinese people:
Me: Are you Chinese?
Tyler: yes… half.
Me: oh? What’s your other half?
Tyler: English.
Nat wanted a new Chinese outfit so we went to Chinatown and she picked this one.
We had 2 New Years dinners!
Chiu family dinner
Kha family dinner
We also celebrated Grandmas birthday
The kids got a lot of lucky money!
