Natalie has been really busy with school so we decided to skip going to LA this year for Labor Day weekend. She had a school activity over the weekend and lots of homework to catch up on too. We did take 1 day to do something fun which was a day trip to Napa Valley. We had lunch at Ad Hoc (chef Thomas Keller), which was recommended by a friend. Their specialty is fried chicken and the kids enjoyed this a lot, although the chicken is deep fried in peanut oil! I was nervous (and unprepared) watching Tyler eat, but he was fine and had no reaction. After lunch, we visited two wineries, Beringer Vineyards and Castello di Amorosa. Both were selected from a blog that listed “family friendly” wineries.

Castello di Amorosa is a medieval inspired Tuscan castle. The front yard had a variety of animals. The tour includes wine tasting and juice for the kids.
In the evening, we drove to San Francisco for dinner and dessert. We crossed the Golden Gate Bridge just as the sun started to set and it was so pretty!
